The annual Margaret River Wine Festival will be held for four days from Friday 13th through Monday 16th of April. The Festival covers the entire Margaret River region from Dunsborough to Augusta. It promises to be a great occasion for wine lovers, as the 120 producers in Margaret River regions produce just 3% of Australia’s wine, but 20% of all Australia’s premium wines.
Stuart Watson, Vice President of the Margaret River Wine Industry Association said, “We are excited with the way the Wine Festival is shaping up for 2012 in showcasing Margaret River wines and enabling visitors to experience the unique and attractive lifestyle of the entire region ‐ our wine, food, arts, creative industries, and natural attractions.”
Highlights of this year’s festival include:
• Long Table Feast at Leeuwin Estate, featuring chefs from 5 winery restaurants, pairing local foods and wines
• Dunsborough Street Fiesta with wines to sample, food, market stalls and live music
• Margaret River Street Fiesta with food, wine and music events in the main street of Margaret River
