The first ever vintage of Leeuwin Estate Chardonnay, the 1980, from the now famous Margaret River winery, was recommended as the Best Chardonnay in the World in the English wine magazine Decanter in 1982.
Since this incredible accolade, the winery has continued to produce top tier wines – the consistency of the Chardonnay vintages over the years has been truly astounding. In the shadow of the white wine’s fame, the reds have struggled for recognition at the same level, but as recent vintages have shown, they have the ability to walk upon their own stage as truly excellent wines.
We would like to offer you the opportunity to experience these breathtaking wines with fine food, while hearing from Simone Horgan Furlong, eldest child of founders Denis and Tricia Horgan, about the Leeuwin journey from the second generation’s point of view. Simone and her siblings have taken over the reins and are guiding Leeuwin Estate in its relentless efforts to improve the already superb quality and standards.
