Information Session on Hydrogen Fuel Transport in WA on Monday 8 November 2021

The WA Government has announced an initial $10 million to accelerate the uptake of hydrogen fuelled transport which is being delivered as part of the $61.5 million announced in the 2021-22 State Budget to drive renewable hydrogen development and demand stimulation.  This program forms part of the $750 million Climate Action Fund. 

The program will provide financial support to projects that include the procurement and operation of hydrogen or green ammonia fuelled transport and the installation of one or more refuelling stations.  The WA Government is encouraging transport operators, original equipment manufacturers and hydrogen producers to team up and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the program.

Expressions of Interest for the Hydrogen Fuelled Transport Program are now open.

EOI applications will be reviewed by the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation.  Applicants who are shortlisted will be invited to submit a more detailed project plan.

Successful applicants from the EOI process will be announced in 2022.

Applicants are encouraged to review the following documents before commencing their EOI’s.

Applicants must submit an EOI via email to hydrogen@jtsi.wa.gov.au with subject mentioned as “EOI – [insert Applicant name] – [insert project name] – HFT Program”. All document attachments must be submitted in pdf format with a size no greater than 20 MB and 20 pages in total. Submissions are due by 4 : 00 pm AWST 13 January 2022.  Late submissions will not be considered.

The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation will be hosting an information session on Monday 8 November for those interested in submitting an expression of interest, participating in a consortium, or learning more about the opportunities for hydrogen fuelled transport in WA.
