Among the major cities in Australia, Perth – the capital of Western Australia – has the least number of Japanese students, and if often said to be “off the beaten track.” However, the latest Australian Government figures show that the number of Japanese students studying in Western Australia is trending up compared to last year.
One of the drivers behind this growth is Polytechnic West, the largest of the 11 TAFE (Technical and Further Education) institutions in Western Australia. Kim Wood, Manager International Business & Services at Polytechnic West will visit Japan in September, and we will host a seminar to introduce the latest information on courses for international students, English language study, and study for entry into universities.
The second half of the seminar will introduce case studies on Polytechnic West activities in Asian countries. Known as ‘Transnational Education,’ Polytechnic West is providing students in Asian countries with the opportunity to study and receive qualifications that are recognized as equivalent to those in Australia. Kim will also discuss “Transnational Education” in a Japanese context.
The Seminar is strongly recommended for leaders working in the international operations of educational institutions and agents working in the field. It also provides a great opportunity to network with your peers and forge new connections.
Note: This is not a promotion for a study tour.
